Default Christians losing their children

A strong member of your congregation just lost her child, a 17yr old boy. What in the world can you say to such a person? How do you tell them God is still in control when they just watched their child die...

This can be difficult times for such people but they can take comfort in the truth in the scripture found in Heb 13:5 "I will never leave you, I will never forsake you." At these times,God is closer than they could ever believe though it takes faith to accept this. Above all, I think prayer would work best because God alone can truly comfort the broken-hearted. That's why we have the Holy Spirit our Comforter.

What to say to a bereaved parent? Cry with him or her.
